Hannah Montana Biography
Hannah Montana was an original Disney Channel series, aimed at children and youth audiences, who was nominated four times for the Emmys and two for the BAFTA, was released on March 24, 2006 and ended with the last episode on January 16, 2011 In the United States, while in Latin America the series premiered on November 12, 2006 and ended on February 20, 2011. It is one of the channel's most watched series, along with That's So Raven. The soundtrack was one of the best selling in 2006.
The series has been produced by It's a Laugh Productions, Inc. in partnership with Disney; And is filmed at Tribune Studios in Hollywood, California (for the first season and second season) and at Sunset Bronson Studios in Hollywood, California (as of Season 3). The series broke audience records for the Disney Channel: 8.4 million viewers on the release date.1
According to the president of Disney Channel Entertainment, that amount of people "went beyond our wildest dreams." 2
On April 10, 2009 in the United States and Canada, the film adaptation of the series was released, with the name: "Hannah Montana: The Movie", where Miley Cyrus must make the most important decision of her life, reveal to the world that She is Hannah or stop being and live without her secret.
The series has been renewed for the fourth and last season, which was released on July 11, 2010 in the United States.3 In Latin America, its release was on August 13, 2010. Marketed as Hannah Montana Forever.

Michael Poryes, credited as co-creator, also co-creator of the Disney Channel series That's So Raven. The show is produced by It's a Laugh Productions and Michael Poryes Productions in partnership with Disney Channel. It was filmed at Sunset Bronson Studios in Hollywood, California.
The original idea for this show was based on the episode of That's So Raven "Hollywood Goin 'On", which served as a back door pilot for a sitcom called tentatively Better Days to the star Alyson Stoner, in which a child star of a Popular TV show of the same name was to try their luck at going to a normal school. The episode "New Kid in School" is the basic premise of the previously spoken episode. American Juniors finalist Jordan McCoy, future actress Gossip Girl, Taylor Momsen and pop singer R & B JoJo (who turned down the role) were considered for the role of Zoe Stewart. Miley Cyrus originally auditioned for the role of best friend Lilly Romero, who later switched to Lilly Truscott, but thought it would be better for the main character, so she tried for Chloe Stewart / Hannah Montana. Chloe Stewart was changed to Miley Stewart, when Cyrus obtained the paper. Hannah Montana's names have been changed a few times. Three of the previous names were Anna Cabana, Samantha York, Alexis Texas.
In December 2006, Disney announced the launch of Hannah Montana products, such as clothing, jewelry and dolls at certain stores. Play Along Toys released numerous Hannah Montana dolls such as fashion dolls, singing dolls and Miley Stewart dolls as well as other items in August 2007. Hannah Montana has planned at least one more season according to the Disney Channel.
The filming of the second season began in December 2006, and premiered in the United States in April of the following year. It was announced that Hannah Montana would return with a third season in 2008 and a fourth in 2010 which was the last, ending with a one-hour special4
According to the Daily Dispatch, the television series celebrated a global audience of 200 million viewers in 2008. "If Miley's viewers were a country, it would be the fifth largest population in the world - ahead of Brazil." In February 2008, the Hannah Montana franchise had become so important that Disney convened an "80 people, meeting all-international platform to discuss the future of Hannah Montana." All Disney business segments were represented at the meeting.
